Techniques for Mixed Consistency in Programming Languages
Data replication is essential in distributed scenarios, but poses a challenge for data consistency. Developers either adopt Strong consistency at the detriment of performance or they embrace Weak consistency and face a higher programming complexity. Programming languages can support various consistency models enabling mixing Strong and Weak consistent data in the same application. We discuss different techniques to define language-based consistency based on ConSysT, a programming language with data-centric consistency types.
